With T-Rex, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, even Lenny Kravitz and Suede influences, Jan (real name Joan Serra Vinayls), is a self-taught musician who started playing his father’s (an hardcore Beatles fan) old Spanish guitar at the age of sixteen. Soon after he formed his first rock band with his long standing drummer Elies Campmany, playing songs by Hendrix, Zeppelin or the Doors. After quitting the band, Jan studied design (his other passion) at Barcelona’s La Llotja. It’s no wonder, then, that he made the cover of his first record himself. During his last year at the school he recorded a solo demo and tried his luck again. A month later, after having audition more than 30 musicians, he formed his backing band, the Electric Poets, and his recording and performing career began.
